Skywatch Catch-up
If any of you have missed posting a Skywatch entry for one week, you might understand how I’m feeling. It is amazing how many skies there are to share, and missing one week just really makes a person feel behind. But I’m going to shake these feelings of behindness - goodness knows they’re manifesting all over in my life - and I’ll just enjoy the opportunity I have now to share. So glad to be back. Life feels a little out of balance. There’s nothing like a few skies to browse to wash the tension out of my shoulders (only to have it wrenched back in when I realize how much time I’ve spent visiting sky blogs and how much behinder I just got!)
Fall is in full swing. The colors haven’t been as intensely varied as in years passed, but I’m still enjoying the colors. And the cool air (it’s been downright COLD this week!). The skies change too - I’ve never taken the time to observe the sky changes before this year. It’s been so much fun!
The clouds seem more dense on some of these fall evenings. I love to watch them - these were traveling at quite a clip. They had some other places to see. Wish they’d take me along!
These clouds were content just to sit and watch my pond. And the cows.
With the sun coming up a bit later, it’s easier for me to see some colors from the Library window. I love how the mist just hangs in this picture. This is quite typical of where we live - sometimes it takes quite some time to burn off.
The color on this evening was SO dense it made the whole farm feel orange.
Happy fall, and happy sky watching! Thanks for stopping by. You can see more amazing sky pictures from all around the world by visiting here.

Love, love, LOVE the first and last photos. The clouds in the first seem heavy, and the rolling hills almost make me ache for that kind of scenery.
The last one in orange is just spectacular!
Your skies get more interesting while mine clear up and get somewhat boring (though beautiful–just the same every day).

Lovely skies! It doesn’t seem THAT long ago that all your skies were pure blue.
October 30th, 2008 at 3:23 pm
That is a lovely sunrise set, I could not help myself this morning ether, seems a lot of us had cloudy sunrises this morning.
Love the valley fog. Isn’t it hard to choose the shots for the post though?
October 30th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
Farmchick,
I can’t decide which of those last two shots I like best! The colors of that sunset are gorgeous, but it’s hard to beat a misty morning pic … especially one with a pink-tinged sky like that. Absolutely beautiful!

Hi RFC, these are lovely pictures and show so much of the changes in sun colours.
As I have said I love your water feature with the reflections in.
I would show you mine but its only a 2′x 2′frog pond.
I really enjoyed the mist in the trees. They all are great pictures though.

Hi Deirdre, I don’t know where you live but it sure looks beautiful. Great sky shots, I especially like the one with the fog laying in there. It reminds me of Germany where my wife grew up. Their saying for the fog in the morning is “the foxes are making coffee”
October 31st, 2008 at 9:28 am

Love the sunset colours! Wow, quite a following/group at Skywatch. I’m comment number 70 today, I see! Next time I might #100! Also, got your comments on my site - actually, you’re already listed - see top right!
Sorry I didn’t ask, did I?! Now i’m in cow-pie doodoo…
I’ll add something to those comments now-now.

Nice set of images. Great photos!
I think getting blinds could be the answer. I think maybe you could get people to chip in to fund the purchase? Saving wildlife is always a worthy cause.

Hi, thank you so much for your kind comment.
The pictures you have posted this week are very special each one.
The sky with the fast moving clouds wanting to be somewhere else…beautiful.
The reflection in the pond…beautiful.
The fog, and above a pink glow saying Hurray it is going to be another great day, what could be better?
To round it off an enchanting evening.
I enjoyed myself. Thank you.

Great progression of shots…
