Meaning!!??
This is an overdue post. My sister-in-law went away over the Thanksgiving holidays. When she returned, she brought me a gift. I’m just curious to know what you all think this might mean. I mean, my sister-in-law is always sweet and gracious. She always has the kindest words to say in every situation. She doesn’t have to blow happy smoke to say nice things - she’s totally honest, but can do it in a way that makes the people she’s talking to feel really good about whatever she’s being honest about. And then she gives me this:
It’s a T-shirt. With this message. Now personally, I find it hilarious. It’s totally me. But do you think that the kindest person who never talks about anyone and who always has a positive slant on any situation would get into this kind of t-shirt message?
In reality, I think it’s her mean, no shades of gray, no color, only black-and-white brutally honest sicko husband who picked it out. But if he did, I couldn’t wear it. I have to go with HER being the thoughtful one. Ooi, I’m so confused.

If the shirt is totally you, then it is a caring gift. Since this is the first time I have visited your blog, I am guessing, but maybe the rainbows that would be best for her, are simply not what you want. She gave it to you, and I think there was love in that giving.
Of course, I may be wrong, too.

Well, I think, if it is really you…
maybe she knows you a little better than you think she does.
Not her point of view, but yours.

LOL! That’s the kind of T shirt I get from my parents, or husband! They’re just trying to be funny… don’t read too much into it! And on days when you feel like being a b–ch or just plain get out of bed on the wrong side - then wear it with pride!
(Although from what you say, your sis-in-law probably didn’t pick it out…)

Hummm, that’s a hard one…wink
I’d have to say a little denial will go a long way…wear it - and don’t ask questions!

I’m with Maggie! Wear it proudly! Your SIL must know you better than you thought. Go with it, appreciate her understanding of you, and rest in the knowledge that “her mean, no shades of gray, no color, only black-and-white brutally honest sicko husband” probably doesn’t do the shopping, and her kindness would have beat him out if it was mean spirited. Fun shirt. I would wear it!

Wear it around home, for chores or whatever. I probably wouldn’t wear it out in public. I have a tee-shirt that has a sort of similar saying, but in a more humorous way, I think: “I used to jog five miles a day…..then I found a short cut!” Now, THAT I find hilarious.
Perhaps, and only perhaps……your sister-in-law is subconsciously telling you how SHE feels about things sometimes. I think we all can identify a bit with the saying, even without being on psych meds.

Ithink it means this: She thinks that you care, but she has given up and is throwing in the towel……

So it means, your brother is the one being mean?

Why could you not wear it if he picked it out?
